The Spartanburg County Foundation is a nonprofit Community Foundation committed to improving the lives of all Spartanburg County residents by promoting philanthropy, encouraging community engagement, and responding to community needs. Formed in 1943, the Foundation Trustees and staff team envisions a Spartanburg County where all residents achieve their human potential through continuous improvement in quality of life, educational achievement, and economic mobility. The Foundation serves a knowledge source for its fundholders and nonprofit organizations serving the community. We host events that bring diverse groups of people together to learn, collaborate, and partner to actively address community challenges and opportunities to ensure that all Spartanburg County residents can thrive - for generations to come. In the Robert Hett Chapman III Center for Philanthropy we also provide space for mission-aligned nonprofit organizations and community groups to advance their work to meet the needs of our community.
