Spring Washam

Spring Washam is a well-respected dharma teacher, author, and visionary leader residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Her works include the insightful A Fierce Heart: Finding Strength, Courage, and Wisdom in Any Moment and her latest literary contribution, The Spirit of Harriet Tubman: Awakening from the Underground. As a founding teacher of the East Bay Meditation Center in Oakland, California, Spring has dedicated her life to the teachings of Buddhism, receiving extensive training under the guidance of Jack Kornfield. She is a member of the Teacher’s Council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Northern California and has delved deeply into both Theravada and Tibetan Buddhist traditions since 1999.

Since 2004, Spring has led numerous residential retreats and continues to inspire communities with her heart-centered approach to healing and transformation. Her spiritual journey is further enriched by her practice as a shamanic healer, having studied extensively with Shipibo Maestras in the Peruvian Amazon. In 2008, she founded Lotus Vine Journeys, an innovative organization that integrates indigenous healing traditions with Buddhist wisdom in the heart of South America.

Spring’s teachings offer a path of inner strength, compassion, and profound personal transformation. Featured in Lion’s Roar, Tricycle, and Belief.net, she is also the co-founder of the Spirit Underground Liberation Project and Church, a sanctuary for collective healing and Black liberation. Spring’s visionary leadership bridges ancient wisdom with modern practices, guiding people worldwide on their journey toward freedom and wholeness.
