Origin Theatre Company

For over 20 years Origin Theatre Company has provided a gateway to New York City and the US for contemporary Irish and European playwrights. Since 2007 Origin has been producing the annual 1st Irish Theatre festival in New York City. The only festival of it's kind anywhere in North America. To date it has produced or presented the work of over 300 Irish identifying playwrights and artists. Origin also hosts a number of events throughout the year such as the annual Bloomsday Revel in association with Blooms Tavern NYC. Plays in May is our annual new works reading series. In 2024 Origin launched it's latest initiative "Scéal Nua", (New Story) a playwright lab for Irish and Irish inspired writers in New York City.
