The Georgia Appalachian Trail Club manages, maintains, and protects the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Georgia with volunteers from its membership and the interested public. We maintain nearly 130 miles of trails in Georgia, including all of the Appalachian Trail. We partner with many conservation groups and our members participate in a variety of programs to protect our environment. GATC also offers a year-round calendar of outdoor activities focused on group dayhikes and overnight backpacking trips. Our hikes are led by experienced hikers and the trails we hike range from the Georgia coast to the Atlanta area and beyond the north Georgia mountains into neighboring states. GATC provides programs to introduce young people, school groups and others to the Appalachian Trail and outdoor experiences through one-day events like festivals as well as guided trips. Part of our mission is to teach people of all ages and interests the skills to be safe outdoors and be good stewards of our land. One of our signature programs is our GATC volunteer Trail Ambassadors, who patrol the A.T. to offer assistance and expert advice to the hiking community along the Georgia portion of the A.T.
As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Charitable Organization, the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club can accept financial donations in any amount. Donations can be made via our website at georgia-atclub.org.
