Dalton Civitan Club

The worldwide mission of Civitan International is to build good citizenship by providing a volunteer organization of clubs dedicated to serving individual and community needs, with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.

Dalton Civitan Club is the oldest civic club in Dalton, Georgia. The club was organized by a group of 50 "forward-looking individuals who felt the need to solidify the spirit of Dalton into a working force for the betterment of Dalton and mankind". Throughout its history, Dalton Civitan Club has been involved with building Hotel Dalton, encouraging the industrialization of the city, organizing the Dalton Chamber of Commerce, providing the land for Harmon Field, saving Hamilton Memorial Hospital, providing the land for the Dalton Airport, and creating multiple parks.
