Anthony Brogdon is a native Detroiter, graduate of Oakland University. He founded Strong Productions in 2009 as producer of the stage play Foot Soldiers. In 2014 he released The Great Detroit documentary then in 2017 he produced Business in the Black documentary which toured to over 40 US cities, Toronto, Canada and London, England.
In 2019 Mr. Brogdon self published Black Business Book.
In 2020, Strong Inspirations went on air as a podcast on youtube, where Mr. Brogdon interviews people from around the world via zoom. The topic is black history and there are over 450 videos on the channel. Some of the noted guest have been Madam CJ Walker's 2x great granddaughter, Frederick Douglas 3x great grandson, Ida B. Wells 2x great grandson, first black mayor of Tuskegee, Alabama and countless historians, college professors and museums operators.
Returning to the stage, Anthony has written, directed and produced They Did It a stage play about the lives of 12 rich black folks who lived in the 1800s. The play is a series of skits that allows the audience to hear how each person obtained their freedom, how they were able to operate a business, how they bought their freedom and how wealthy they became. They play is adapted from Black Business Book. The scheduled performances are April 29th at Historic King Solomon Church, 6100 14th St, Doors open at 3pm showtime 7pm and June 3rd at Detroit Public Theatre, 3960 Third Ave, 2pm and 7pm showtimes. The plan is to perform the play in Toledo, Ohio, Chicago, Illinois and Grand Rapids, Michigan in the fall of 2023.
