The American Alpine Club - Washington DC Section encompasses the Baltimore, DC, Northern Virginia, and Richmond Chapters.

American Alpine Club - Washington DC Section and affiliated Chapters purpose is aligned with the American Alpine Club mission to share and support our passion for climbing and respect for the places we climb.

Vision: to unite the community of competent climbers and healthy climbing landscapes.

Core Values: to provide authoritative climbing information, knowledge and resources to benefit and inspire current and future generations.

Community and competency strengthen and embolden climbers to push our limits.

Being in DC, the DC Section has a direct role in advocacy and leadership advancing our climbing interest and promote conversation.

We are climbers: Gym climbers and trad climbers. Sport climbers, ice climbers and alpinists. Boulderers, backcountry skiers and mountaineers. We are largest community of rock scaling misfits in the country and YOU belong here.
