About this event

Young Artist Workshops are free art activities for children ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult). Participants can come to a YAW anytime between 3 and 7 pm. Workshops at Elyze Clifford Interpretive Center (located within Prime Desert Woodland Preserve) are every third Sunday of the month. Art activities take about 10-30 minutes to make; seating and supplies are first-come, first-serve. Participants create artwork from start to finish, with all the supplies and guidance provided by MOAH staff. Each YAW is unique and introduces children to a variety of art techniques, materials, and processes.

Upcoming Young Artist Workshop:

Hummingbird Spinners

📍 Elyze Clifford Interpretive Center

Let your creativity take flight at this month’s Young Artist Workshop as we will be making Hummingbird Spinners. Children will create their own colorful spinning toy based on native and migratory hummingbirds of the Antelope Valley using cardstock, templates, and colored pencils.

Before or after crafting, be sure to explore the trails of Prime Desert Woodland Preserve and you just might spot a real hummingbird!
