Learn the basics to get you started on your woodworking projects, including how to safely use all of the main large power tools. This class takes you through the woodshop and lets you put your hands on every tool that you could need to use while woodworking and you will leave with a woodworking project. We will cover the Tablesaw, Bandsaw, Jointer, Router, Sander, Planer, and Dust Collection. If you have been looking for a BEGINNING WOODWORKING BOOT CAMP class, look no further... This is the class for you! This is a hands on class so be ready to have some fun. Completion of this course will prepare you to move on to more advanced projects. This is a comprehensive 5 hour class with a 30 minute lunch break. This is an extremely popular class, be sure to sign up early! All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation.

Frequently asked questions

Are there any age restrictions for this class?

This class requires the use of power tools, which requires the attendee to be 14 years or older. Attendees below 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire class. If a parent or legal guardian is required to attend, only 1 ticket is required.

Do I need any safety equipment or special clothing?

Safety glasses or face shields, hearing protection, gloves, and dust respirators will be provided free of charge as needed. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves should be rolled up, long hair should be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes.

I'm interested in a class that is not scheduled, do you offer custom classes based on my interests?

If you are interested in a private class, custom class tailored to your specific needs, or a special group class, please call your local store and speak directly to a Manager. We'll do our very best to meet your requirements while providing a great experience.
