This April, we’re teaming up with Carrie Murray Nature Center and Friends of Gwynns Falls Leakin Park for a day of hands-on service in one of Baltimore’s most beautiful and ecologically rich green spaces!
Carrie Murray Nature Center is on a mission to inspire wonder through nature connections and create an inclusive, thriving community where all life is valued. Through environmental education and stewardship, they ensure that everyone—especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color—feels welcomed and empowered in natural spaces.
What We’ll Be Doing:
- Painting little libraries to spread the joy of reading
- Mulching the fire circle and campus paths to keep the park accessible
- Power washing picnic tables to refresh community spaces
- Picking up trash to keep the park clean and beautiful
- Cutting back invasive multiflora rose to help native plants thrive
Why You Should Join:
- Make a tangible impact on Baltimore’s largest park
- Connect with fellow volunteers and nature lovers
- Enjoy fresh air, good vibes, and the satisfaction of giving back
