PRESENTERS
John J. Markey, OP, PhD teaches in areas of theology, spirituality and philosophy and specializes in foundational theology, systematic theology, ecclesiology and contemporary spirituality. He also works in the areas of the history of philosophy, medieval philosophy, 20th century European philosophy and American pragmatism, particularly the work of Josiah Royce. He is currently working in the area of contextual theology and spirituality focused on the US cultural context. Fr. John is co-authoring a new book with Paulist Press entitled Revisioning Spirituality: The American Communal Imagination and the Destiny of a Discipline with Michael Ceragioli.
Michael Ceragioli, MA (Th.) is a third-year PhD student whose primary areas of academic research are depth psychology, American pragmatism, and contemporary spirituality. In 2022, Michael co-authored a book on The New Evangelization with Ignacio Llorente entitled Sent Forth, published by Cascade Publishing at Wipf and Stock. He is currently co-authoring a new book with Paulist Press entitled Revisioning Spirituality: The American Communal Imagination and the Destiny of a Discipline with John Markey.
Allie Tao is the program assistant for the PhD, MA, and Certificate in Spirituality programs and is currently enrolled in the MA in Spirituality. She recently completed a five-year program in Classical Chinese Medicine in Portland, OR and is currently completing her board exams while researching the intersection of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home and Classical Chinese Medicine. Allie has a master’s degree in Chinese Medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine and a BA in History from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.
