Public artist Jenn Houle inspires ‘botanical belonging’ and eco-action by highlighting the power of native plants to heal multispecies communities. Learn how visual art, native plants, and creative placemaking are combined to urge a viable, healthy habitat for all beings. Jenn will discuss ongoing public art projects including: ‘Plant Paint Cross-Pollinate’ a migratory mural that highlights local conservation efforts, ‘Dark Skies’ a glow in the dark mural featuring migrating animals in collaboration with Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and Great Marsh Artists Program, and other recent native plant and pollinator murals. Paint miniature butterflies following the talk!
Meet at 6:00 for a walk through the native plant gardens.
Those 14 years of age and older are invited to join Jenn inside for a talk.
The painting workshop is limited to 20 people. Please add a separate, 7:30 PM ticket for the painting workshop if you'd like to reserve a spot for yourself.
