Frequently asked questions

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The garden and indoor space and restrooms are ADA compliant.

Where is the venue located?

The Ability Garden is located on the property of Legacy Park, owned by the City of Decatur. The Ability Garden is located on south side of the property adjacent to the Whitehead Parking lot and the Nickerson Cottage. "Trellis Event" signs will help guide participants to parking and the venue.

Where should I direct Marta Mobility to drop me off?

Drop off is located at either the Whithead Parking lot or the small parking lot adjacent to the Nickerson Cottage. A map will be provided to registered participants.

What happens if it rains?

The event will occur rain or shine. If weather sours, we will meet indoors in the Leigh Building directly across from the Ability Garden.

Can I bring my caregiver or partner?

We very much encourage caregivers to be available for support if needed. We ask that the art project be reserved for the attendee only. Caregivers can provide support or take a breather and enjoy the park setting and walking trails, leaving Trellis trained professionals to do what they do best!

Do I need to sign a liability waiver?

Yes! As a Trellis participant, we ask you to sign a liability release waiver. We will also ask you to sign a photo/video permission release, which you can opt out of. As a small nonprofit, Trellis strives to raise awareness of its mission and free programs for adults with long-term disabilities.
