Wildlife abounds at the Weedon Island Preserve, especially the tiny kind, like butterflies, bees, and other invertebrates. Join naturalist Liz Childress on a walk to look for little creatures and discover the hidden beauty of the Preserve. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Note: The total walk length will be variable, but no more than a mile or so. We will traverse uneven, natural paths and boardwalks so please prepare accordingly.

Is there a recommended age range for this program?

Yes, this tour is best suited for adults and youth ages 10+. Youth must be supervised by an adult.

What do I need to bring or wear?

For the best experience please wear closed-toe shoes to protect your feet, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring and apply insect repellent, and carry drinking water for every individual in your group.

Where does this tour meet?

Participants will meet inside the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center. Check-in begins at 9:15 a.m.
