‘You sound just like Neil Young, but better!’ Is the phrase Brian Dolzani has heard ever since he started performing his original music over 20 years ago. Brian’s Neil Young covers have always grabbed audiences by the collar and made them think they are listening to the man himself. Giving in to fate, Brian in late 2023 launched his Neil Young appreciation show to rapt audiences eager and excited to hear him play full tribute to Neil’s music, sung in a voice that you’d be hard pressed to tell who’s who.
‘In my teens I introjected Neil’s sound out of pure love and relation, and it’s just the way I sing’, Brian explains. ‘Neil’s approach to songwriting and being an artist has always been my North Star’.
Brian performs a solo set on guitars, harmonica, and piano, followed by a full band set. He also includes a few of his own songs in each show that fit perfectly next to his prime songwriting inspiration. You can watch many full Loner shows on Brian’s YouTube channel.
