About Clatter: Clatter is a coffee shop by day, and moonlights as an intimate music venue and cocktail bar on appointed evenings. You can buy tickets and reserve specific seats here, or it's also fine just to come and pay at the bar. In addition to the evening's music, we offer a full cocktail bar, our espresso bar, and food menu. (NA options abound).

About the FJQ: "Brought together by the Muses and Athena herself, the Frostburg Jazz Quintet (FJQ) draws inspiration from the multi-verse of music while enjoying a continuous collaboration as music department faculty at Frostburg State University.

After extensive research in the field of research, pie charts, graphs, thesis statement, null thesis statements, disaggregating the aggregate data, measuring the negative distance, analyzing the analysis, calibrating the flux capacitor, updating our social media status, performing a vibe check, and putting the soul back in the syllabus, our data has shown that the FJQ thrives in a musical environment which includes:

  • 1 cup swang (not to be confused with “swing”)
  • 1 cup funk
  • 1 cup NOLA
  • ½ cup blues
  • 1 cup prog rock
  • ¼ cup thrash metal drums
  • 2 tbsp keyboard pyro techniques
  • 1 tsp bass harmonics a’ la Jaco
  • 1 tbsp atonal saxophone
  • 1 tbsp screech trumpet
  • 5 cups improvisation
  • An occasional reference to “The Lick”
  • A dash of “Steely Dan” to taste (optional but encouraged)
  • And a whole boat load of fun (never optional and always encouraged)

Brent Weber – saxophones, Donnie Albrecht - trumpet, Tom Harrison – keyboards, Peter Lewis – bass, Mackenzie LaMont - drums"
