The Art of Rest is a curated pottery experience designed specifically for Black women to explore Creative Rest and Social Rest in a supportive community. Through hands-on pottery making, guided breathwork, and intentional connection, this event offers a space to unwind, create, and restore.

2. Do I need prior pottery experience to attend?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! This gathering is for beginners and experienced creatives alike. No prior pottery experience is necessary—our instructors will guide you through both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques.

3. What will we be doing at the event?

-Learning basic pottery techniques on the wheel
-Creating a hand-built piece using freeform techniques
-Engaging in a 30-minute breath and connection circle
-Enjoying light snacks and refreshments
-Connecting with other Black women in an affirming, restful space

4. What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy. Aprons will be provided, but pottery can get a bit dusty.

5. What does the $70 fee cover?

-A guided pottery class with all materials provided
-Three balls of clay to create both wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces
-A breath and connection circle to deepen rest and community
-Light snacks and drinks

6. Will I be able to take my pottery home the same day?

Accepted Answer

No, pottery requires firing and glazing, which takes time. You will be contacted when your pieces are ready for pickup at the studio.

Refunds can be issued up to 7 days before the event.

Yes! We encourage you to invite another Black woman in your life who would benefit from this experience. However, spots are limited to 12 participants, so early registration is highly recommended. If you would like to bring a friend, please ensure they register as soon as possible to secure a spot.
