Join us for this all-inclusive timber framing retreat, led by renowned timber framer James Smith. Throughout the weekend, attendees will work together to cut mortise and tenons for a large timber frame structure that will live at the Blackthorne. Students will learn how to lay out timbers, use traditional timber framing tools, implement new tools into traditional timber framing and much much more. By the end of the weekend, the group will have all of the mortise and tenons of the structure complete and ready for dry fitting! Then, the whole frame comes back apart and waits to be fully erected at the next Maker Camp!
