Technological advances are rapidly changing the way we practice. But most of us haven't had time to really keep up with all the changes. As clinicians, we are often intrigued by new technology, but don't always understand the benefits and dangers, and we worry about privacy. How can we take advantage of what technology can offer while remaining safely within legal and ethical boundaries?
Join telehealth expert Ben Caldwell, PsyD, LMFT in this engaging webinar, as he gives specific guidance on the important legal requirements and practical considerations for providing telehealth. It is guaranteed to make you think twice about your practice policies!
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
- Emailing and texting with clients: Legal and ethical considerations
- 4 things your licensing board may require at the start of telehealth treatment
- 3 things your board may require at each telehealth session
- Common myths about seeing a client in another state
- The latest on interstate compacts
- Telehealth informed consent: Do you need it?
- Is it OK to have progress notes written by artificial intelligence (AI)?
- How can mental health apps improve the care we provide? When a client uses one, whose job is it to make sure their data isn't being sold?
- What you need to know about HIPAA compliance and confidentiality (and Is FaceTime HIPAA compliant?)
