About the Workshop

All too often the people shaping initiatives, programs, and events don’t represent the full diversity of those that will be directly impacted.

Establishing an advisory group can be an effective way to strengthen your initiatives by including new and diverse perspectives. This workshop will guide you through an intentional process to effectively utilize advisory groups and ensure a respectful experience for everyone involved.

Whether you’re a small non-profit doing public education or a multi-national corporation making big moves, don’t limit your initiatives by grounding them in business as usual. Tapping new, representative voices will ensure that your initiatives meet the real needs of the people you serve and maximize your impact.

What will you learn?

You will explore the benefits of using an advisory group and practice using the “6 Steps to Establish an Advisory Group” with your own project, event, or initiative that would benefit from a more diverse set of voices.

• 110-minute facilitated workshop
• Participants will receive an exclusive resource and tool and a curated list of public resources to continue your learning

What else do you need to know?

• Our workshops are capped at 10 participants so that we can get the most out of our time together. We’ll engage deeply with the content and each other, try things out, and make plans for integrating the learning in your daily life.
• Participants should have in mind an initiative, project or strategic decision where your organization may benefit from a carefully selected group of voices.
