Robert SCHUMANN Piano Quintet in Eb and Camille SAINT SAENS Septet for piano, trumpet and strings

Few romances in music history, if any, have come close to producing as many important works as that of Robert and Clara Wieck Schumann. Clara, one of the greatest pianists of her time, was the beneficiary of Robert’s wild five days of inspiration, in the fall of 1842, when he penned the first Romantic Piano Quintet. This masterpiece would serve as a model for Brahms, Dvorak and Franck. Part concerto, part chamber work, the piece is at once bold, dramatic, brilliant and expressive.

The North Country Chamber Players have adopted a “Pay-What-You-Wish” ticket pricing for concerts. Seating is limited, so attendees are asked to make free online reservations. The recommended ticket price is $25, payable at the door, but there is no minimum ticket price required for entry.
