Interested in learning more about partnering with DePaul through the Steans Center?
We are excited to announce the Academic Service Learning team will host Community Partner Orientations bi-weekly on Thursdays at 1pm CST via Zoom.
All new and interested community partners must attend an Orientation to be considered for future course partnership opportunities. This online event is designed to introduce you to the various ways you can get involved. Whether you're a new partner or looking to deepen your engagement, this orientation will provide you with valuable information and resources. Join us to learn more about our mission, values, and upcoming opportunities. We can't wait to connect with you and work together to make a positive impact in our community!
Returning Partners: If there are new contact representatives at your site who will work with and directly support our students, it is highly encouraged that they attend an orientation. If you have not attended an orientation within the past year we strongly urge you to attend to best understand the current process and procedures in place.
We will cover:
- Introduction to the Steans Center in context of DePaul University
- Types of Service Learning Partnerships: Direct Service (hour commitment), Project-based, Advocacy, Solidarity, and Hybrid-mixed Model
- Internship opportunities for student-partner collaborations
- Community Partner requirements, expectations and onboarding
- Steans Center commitment to mutually beneficial partnerships: Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach
- Upcoming course partnership opportunities and how to sign-up for consideration
We look forward to seeing you!
