About this event

Join High Plains Permaculture and Drylands Agroecology Research for the inaugural tree planting at Wild View Farm!

In fall, we dug contour swales to passively harvest water across 30 degraded acres. This spring, we will be tapping into the power of community to plant 1600 native and bioregional fruit trees and shrubs. These perennial hedgerows will harvest water, sink carbon, support pollinators, create habitat, and provide valuable food for people, livestock, and wildlife alike.

Join us to get your hands dirty, meet some cool people, have a lot of fun, and contribute meaningfully to grassroots climate action. Diverse tasks available, from raking to digging to laying out baby trees--something for all energy levels. Further logistics will be sent a few days ahead of time.

Tree planting from 10:00am-1:00pm. Please plan to arrive on time, and stick around after for snacks and festivities in the barn!

*Please do not bring dogs. Children are welcome as long as they are closely supervised by an adult. Tree planting activities are suitable for ages 12+.
