Spring Showdown at Ryan Park

Overview

Join some fellow mountain bike racers at Ryan Park for Maida’s North Kingstown High School senior project: Spring Showdown!

The race will consist of arrowed and taped courses for Novice, Sport, and Expert categories of racers. Racers will be sent off by categories according to the schedule, and further divided into 1 minute waves based on age categories (your racing age is the age that you will be on April 6, 2025).

Category Break Down:

Novice: about 5 miles of double and single track trails. It might be called a novice race, but that doesn’t mean that it will be easy! Expect roots, rocks, hills, and tired legs.

Sport: about 9 miles of double and single track trails. Sign up for this race if you have done a few races or are looking for a challenge! This course will also have roots, rocks, and hills.

Expert: about 15 miles of double and single track trails. If you are signing up for this race, you should have done plenty of races and know what to expect from a mountain bike race.

Staging will be first come first serve, so the earlier you get to the start line, the further up you will be. The final call to staging will occur 10 minutes prior to the start of each race.

There hasn’t been a race at Ryan Park since 2017, so come show us what you’ve got.

All proceeds of the race will be donated to RINEMBA and the Town of North Kingstown for trail improvements.

9:00 am: Novice race start

11:00 am: Expert race start

11:15 am: Novice awards

1:00 pm: Sport race start

1:15 pm: Expert awards

3:15 pm: Sport awards

3:30 pm: Course break-down (following last rider)

Sport - female and male for age brackets of 18 and under, 19-39, 40+

Expert - female and male for age brackets of 18 and under, 19-39, 40+
