Welcome to the Spring Hike in the Hills at the Marsh Creek State Park! Join us for a day of adventure and exploration in the beautiful hills of the park. Ger Erickson and Ed Valenzuela will be our trail guides, introducing us to the landscape and history of the bygone Rancho los Meganos era, and exploring springtime flora and fauna on the route. Frequently asked questions

How difficult is the route?

Most sections are on moderately difficult slopes. There a few steeper grades along the way.

Can I bring my dogs?

No, Marsh Creek State Park is a working cattle ranch. Pets are not allowed.

Can I take my kids on the Hike?

Yes, Any children14 years of age, or over, are welcome. Parents must accompany their children on the Hike.

Are restrooms available?

Handicapped accessible and regular portable restrooms will be available near the Registration area.

What should I bring?

Layered clothing, boots with ankle support, a hat, a water bottle, and trail snacks are recommended. Ger Erickson, our Hike leader will be able to help identify Native plants, flowers, and birds. A Bird / Native plant Field Guide is a good reference companion along with a pair of binoculars.
