The Southern Border Experience is an invitation to listen, learn, and reflect on what the border can teach us, who we are meant to become, and how we can engage closer to home. This is not border tourism. Through a border encounter, we want to hear differently as we connect across divides. We desire to sit with our neighbors, stand with one voice, and walk with those who sojourn over many miles in search of refuge, safety, and wholeness.
We will be partnering with Abara for this 3-day experience in El Paso, Texas. Our group will hear from a wide spectrum of voices with a high emphasis on justice, peace, healing, and transformation through narrative, systems, and personal change. We choose to enter this space as guests, both in El Paso and its sister city, Juarez, Mexico. Through Abara’s leadership, we will center the hopes, dreams, and concerns of neighbors who are local experts within their own communities.
