Frequently asked questions
This event is for women of all professions and men that are first responders (active duty/retired firefighters, EMS, cops, military and their friends (we allow male first responders to bring male civilian friends). 90% of men in attendance are first responders.
If you're outgoing, like to dance, flirt & enjoy meeting new people, this event is perfect for you! Our icebreakers are designed for women to approach men. If you prefer a more traditional setting where men approach you, speed dating might be more your style.
The ratio of women to men at this event typically ranges from 2:1 to 3:1. Male First Responders is obviously a more niche group than women of all professions. The ratio can vary depending on your arrival time. Early in the evening, you'll find more women, while later on, more men tend to arrive.
We've seen several marriages and long-term relationships blossom from these events. Of course, some guys are just looking for a fun night out. Go in expecting to have a good time and see what happens. I will say there are definitely more hook-ups than relationships.
How can you be sure someone is really single? Unfortunately, it's the honor system. Sometimes, not-single wingmen accompany their single friends, and there may be men who claim to be single but are in a relationship. Trust your instincts, use your best judgment, & remember—Google can be your friend.
Most women attend solo, making this the perfect event to meet a new wingwoman. Just be ready to be social, approach, and engage with people. Don't come and sit at a table sulking all night, expecting guys to approach you.
We require agency ID for entrance. Male first responders can bring civilian male friends as guests, but civilian men can only enter if they arrive with a male who has an agency ID. Over 90% of male attendees are first responders.
This event is for women of all professions looking to meet male first responders, not men looking to meet female first responders. Women First Responders with Agency ID do get hour open bar.
All ticket sales are final. No refund unless we cancel or reschedule the event. If you do need to cancel due to illness or family emergency we request at least 24 hours advance written notice: Email support@singleandthecity.com & we're happy to give you a credit to a future event.
