Join us on September 12, 13, and 14th 2025 for an exciting weekend at the Blount County Jr Fire Academy's Smoke on the Water 2.0 at beautiful Lake Guntersville State Park! This KCBS-sanctioned BBQ competition will bring together competitors and pitmasters from across the nation for a weekend of fierce grilling and delicious flavors, all while supporting a great cause.

  • Located at Lake Guntersville State Park, Guntersville, AL.
  • Free parking is available onsite.
  • Restrooms and handwashing stations are provided.
  • Teams will receive (1) campsite with full hookups (power, sewer, and water) with registration. Additional campsites are available upon request at an extra fee.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring more than one vehicle?

There is a Two-vehicle limit per site (Camp Ground Rules) - Additional parking is available in the overflow parking lots near the beach pavilion and is a short walk from the reserved campsite sections.

What time can I arrive?

Teams can begin checking in at 9 am on the Friday before the competition. Teams will need to visit the camp store upon arriving at the campground and then visit the event registration table just outside of the camp store.

Can I get more than one campsite?

Yes! Additional sites can be reserved at an additional fee of $100 per site for the weekend. There is a two-night minimum (Camp Ground Rules) so we can not break them down to single-night stays. Sorry!
