Spring’s coming soon! If you want to learn more about spring weather in Michigan, attend this SkyWarn talk with Steve Considine, a meteorologist and senior forecaster who’s been with the NWS Detroit/Pontiac office since 2001 and has conducted SkyWarn Spotter programs and aviation weather outreach initiatives for several years.

SkyWarn will discuss hazardous spring and summertime weather in metro Detroit, including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flooding. Additionally, SkyWarn will explain the meteorology of how these systems develop, discuss various forecast products used to issue hazardous weather warnings and provide a brief tutorial on how to recognize and report severe weather conditions to the NWS.
