About this event
- Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes
Are you ready to embark on a healing journey in a safe, supportive space, designed specifically for women of color?
Over the course of eight transformative sessions, we’ll reconnect with ourselves, release generational trauma, and create a solid foundation for healing—all from the comfort of your home.
In Session 2 of this 8-session series, we will explore the topic of trauma—what it is, its various forms, and the profound ways it affects us, especially as women of color. We’ll examine how trauma impacts us both individually and collectively, influencing our daily lives, our behaviors, and the way we interact with the world.
We’ll also focus on the physiological aspect of trauma, specifically how it is stored in the body. This understanding is key, as trauma often leaves lasting imprints on our physical being, manifesting in ways we may not always be consciously aware of. By incorporating somatic practices, we’ll learn how to become more attuned to these stored emotions and sensations. These practices will serve as tools to help release trauma from the body and facilitate healing.
Through grounding techniques and mindful movement, we’ll develop ways to respond to the body’s signals, creating space for deeper healing and integration. The goal of this session is to provide a foundational understanding of trauma and its impact, empowering you to engage with it in a way that supports your ongoing journey toward wholeness and well-being.
Following this series, we invite each attendee to join us for a 2-day Sisterhood Camping Retreat in the NYC area. For more details, please see the FAQ.
