Join SheJumps as we celebrate Get the Girls Out! – a nationwide campaign uniting women and girls- transgender and cisgender- as well as non-binary individuals to embrace the great outdoors while fostering a sense of adventure and camaraderie. Spurred by International Women's Day, this program is a call to action for participants of all ages to connect with nature, break down barriers, and celebrate their achievements and strengths throughout the month of March. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a newcomer, the Get the Girls Out! gatherings aim to foster a community where participants can thrive outdoors, inspire one another and younger generations, forge new connections, and rekindle friendships. Grab your friends, and get ready to make unforgettable memories!

Join us in Cupertino, CA for a hike on March 30th!

General Trail Description:

We will be hiking at Rancho San Antonio County Park and Open Space Preserve. There will be two options for hiking different distances.

Option 1: Short Hike - We will hike the Deer Hollow Farm Trail Loop which is 2.8 miles long and covers 252 feet of elevation gain. The trail is a mixture of well-maintained dirt and gravel with occasional steep climbs and patches of sun and shade. We anticipate this hike will take 1.5-2 hours.

Option 2: Long Hike - We will hike the PG&E, Wildcat Loop, and Lower Meadow Trail which is 4.2 miles long and covers 603 feet of elevation gain. The trail is a mixture of well-maintained dirt and gravel with occasional steep climbs and patches of sun and shade. We anticipate this hike will take 3-4 hours.

What to expect:

Gather at 8:30am to check in, meet the other participants, and warm up for our hike!

Admission: Our event organizer will have a list of names for those who register, so no need to show your ticket on your phone or print out your ticket.

*Please note: the event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. We will let you know as late as the night before if we need to cancel due to weather conditions.

Who can attend? We welcome all women and girls—transgender and cisgender, as well as non-binary people. Ages 8 and up are welcome. This hike is open to all skill levels - beginners are welcome! We will go at the pace that best suits our entire group. However, please note that the entire trail will NOT be ADA Accessible. Pre-registration is required for all attendees. Please leave your dog(s) at home.

Can you offer accommodations?: If you need to request any accommodation(s) for the hike, please do so at checkout. We will do our best to accommodate the needs of all of our participants so everyone can enjoy the hike to the fullest with us.

What to wear: Dress in layers to allow you to quickly and easily regulate your temperature as we move along the trail. Check the weather the day before the event to know what to expect!

What to bring: Beyond the right clothing to stay comfortable throughout the hike, we additionally recommend bringing sufficient water, snacks, a headlamp, and any life-saving medication you may need. SheJumps will bring a basic first aid kit.

FAQ's & Other Event Information

Parking and getting to the event: We will be gathering at Lot 1. Parking spots are available at the trailhead in Lot 1 however, they are limited. If you cannot find a parking spot in Lot 1, there are other lots nearby. There is no fee to park. While there are no public transportation options, we encourage you to invite a friend and carpool if you can!

Facility information: There are gender neutral bathrooms available in the parking lots.

To find us day-of, look for: our Event Coordinator's Rebecca and April in Parking Lot 1 with a SheJumps sign.

If you need to request any accommodation(s) for the hike, please do so at checkout. We will do our best to accommodate the needs of all of our participants so everyone can enjoy the hike to the fullest with us.

Since this is a free event to register for, you can cancel at any time in your Eventbrite account. Please email the event lead if you need to cancel last minute so we know not to look for you on the day of the event.
