Weekly 75-minute Satsang Workshop, will help you practice meditation, while learning more about meditation and Satsang. These workshops are targeted for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
Join this new online 'Satsang Workshop' that will introduce you to an ancient practice of meditation. This session is an informal one for beginners and there is a focus on explaining the process and how to learn and practice. These sessions always includes a deep silent meditation on transcendental light for 20 to 30 minutes. You are always welcome to ask questions post meditation.
Each Satsang Workshop is structured as follows:
• Satsang Overview and Introduction – 25 minutes – Beginner oriented introduction to meditation and Satsang and also instructions on how to meditate
• Practice – 25 minutes – Meditate in Silence on Transcendental Light, that starts with Music to help concentration (and help transition in & out of meditation)
• Interact – 20 minutes – Q&A and wrap-up

Frequently asked questions
Satsang, if translated literally, means 'to be with' transcendental energy. What is practiced in these sessions is a method established by Guru Maharaj, Dr. Chaturbhuj Sahay ji, founder of Ramashram Satsang Mathura.
Founded by Guru Maharaj, Dr. Chaturbhuj Sahay ji, in 1930 in northern India. Ramashram - Ram's Ashram or the home of Mahatma Ram Chandra ji (Guru Maharaj's Guru). Satsang - A unique practice that incorporates meditation, service, community and Guru's guidance. Mathura - A northern Indian town.
Meditation is at the core of Satsang sessions, and always include a deep silent meditation on transcendental light for 20 to 30 minutes. Sessions typically last about 60 to 90 minutes.
No prior experience is necessary. Satsang is open to everyone, regardless of their level of experience with meditation. Beginners are welcome and will receive guidance during the session.
Guru Maharaj prescribed twice a day, for 15 to 20 minutes, as that would be enough to build a strong individual practice, provided it is consistent. Time of meditation could be your choice, based on your schedule. Group sessions once or twice a week are enc
Any still but relaxed posture is fine. Sitting on a chair or on the ground. Lotus pose with spine straight used to be the preferred way but now it is flexible.
Historically, Satsang sessions have been free and participants contribute at will only if they want to, there is no such expectation. Donations are appreciated and help support the Satsang community. However, no one is turned away due to lack of funds, even for paid services.
We have been leveraging online sessions via video conferencing platforms, like Zoom and WebEx, since 2010. Sessions also can be attended through YouTube Live. Check with the organizers for details on how to join virtually at sanjiv@ramashram.in. When you register for an event, via email.
Satsang Workshop (75 minute session) is held weekly on Saturdays (at 10AM EST US Eastern Time). Beginners Orientation session (45 minutes) is held on Tuesdays (at 7AM EST US Eastern time) – For advanced practitioners, it works as a practice session and their presence helps the collective energy.
You are encouraged to ask questions after the meditation in the Satsang sessions, as that helps other practitioners, as well. But you can always ask any questions at sanjiv@ramashram.in
o Guru was God for Guru Maharaj, Dr. Chaturbhuj Sahay ji, but he didn’t impose that on anyone. He also didn’t want anyone to call him Guru, so he was brother, father or a friend to many of his followers. Satsang is non-denominational and open to people of all beliefs and backgrounds.
