ROOTED - Honeysuckle Drive

I’m no saint, not even close. Just ask my momma. I’m also no religious scholar. I don’t even know all the books of the Bible. What I do have is a heart for Jesus, and I’m a big believer that’s all you need to change the world.

I love Jesus, country music, and old-school rap. I can quote Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Proverbs. I’ve gotta thing for genuine people, Fireball Whisky, the great outdoors, and infectious laughter. I’m careful with my words, but I do cuss a little. I wear my heart on my sleeve, so there goes my poker face. But, I refuse to apologize for it. It’s one thing to be real. It’s another to be fearlessly authentic. I screw up more times than I get it right. But, I own it when I’m in the wrong. I’ll always choose the lake over the ocean, and I’m not really into reading books. I love to dance. Who am I kidding? Dancing is my favorite! I have zero tolerance for nonsense, drama, and two-faced heifers. Ain’t nobody got time for that headache! But, I’m a loyal friend. One who will love you fiercely. Just ask my tribe.

By the end of the day, I’m all outta patience, so that laundry is gonna have to wait another day. A hot, home-cooked meal might just have to wait, too. I’m currently wrestling with my purpose and longing for something more. But, I have a heart for Jesus, so I write. I write the good, and the bad, and the ugly. So, if you’re after perfection, this event is NOT for you. Oh, but, if you’re after the real and the messy and all that’s in between, this is it.
