Anti-Racism & Community Reporting Tool!

Welcome to our virtual event, the Anti-Racism & Community Reporting Tool! Join us for an open and honest discussion about combating racism in our society.

Incidents of racism and hate crimes continue to rise, yet many go unreported due to fear, lack of trust in authorities, or uncertainty about where to turn. The Community Reporting Tool Project seeks to change that by creating a safe, accessible way for individuals - especially newcomers, refugees, and marginalized groups - to report hate incidents without fear of re-traumatization.

This virtual event will be led by Ruth Mojeed Ramirez, an equity and inclusion leader. It will bring together community members, advocates, and organizations to discuss key aspects of the project, including:

· Understanding the barriers to reporting hate incidents.

· Exploring alternative, community-centered reporting solutions.

· Adapting successful models from Victoria, Australia, and BC to fit our local needs.

· Collaborating on a collective response to hate incidents with Ridge Meadows Multicultural Society (RMMS) and other stakeholders.

The virtual event will be held on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at 10:00am. Your voice is essential in shaping this initiative! Whether you are an advocate, community leader, or someone passionate about creating safer spaces, we invite you to be part of this critical conversation.
