Don’t Panic!

THE 42nd BLACK PARTY: the mythic 16+ hour pagan 'Rites of Spring' ritual that transports revelers to uncharted realms. Leave the outside world behind and surrender to the transcendent bonds of Eros, where journeys end with lovers meeting.

Blending its signature Strange Live Acts, breathtaking light shows and a soundscape from the underground music scene's brightest stars, this year’s immersive performance art x dance party dares to ask:

What is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything.

Are you ready to hitch a ride?

Will there be on-site medical services?

The event is staffed with EMTs and Medics for the length of the party. The NY Department of Health and other community organizations will be on-site providing harm reduction items such as Narcan and Drug Testing kits.

Is the Black Party considered a LGBTQ safe space?

Yes. Saint At Large goes to great expense to create a safe environment for revelers to experience uninhibited fun. In addition to gay-friendly bonded security, SAL employs a full staff of its own security team wearing red bracelets and identifying STAFF shirts to help with any situation.

Will I be in any personal danger?

Black Party prioritizes affirmative and continuous consent. All parties involved should actively and enthusiastically agree to participate in any activity. Silence or lack of resistance is not interpreted as consent which can be withdrawn at any time. SAL Security are posted nearby for help.

What is meant by Strange Live Acts?

The party's signature “Strange Live Acts” are meant to enhance and elevate the theatrical elements of the party. All stunts and situations are coordinated and overseen by a team of professionals featuring performers who are experienced and supervised.

What is meant by Dress: Heavy?

A holdover term from the traditional full leather gear worn at the early Black Parties. Today's more popular fetish fashions dictate a less strict interpretation with party-goers wearing anything that signals their most daring, kinky selves.

The Saint At Large exists in the space where music, dance and art collide. Over its 44-year storied history, it has retained its reputation for provocation with cutting-edge, theatrical innovation and staging. Its biggest event, The Black Party held every Spring in New York City, is considered the father of all large gay circuit events.
