I. The Toll When Our "Personal, Political, and Professional" Selves Intersect

  • Seriously, how are you doing?
  • The reactions we see in our clients to the current social-political environment and the toll it takes on us.
  • Holding Space for Clients: Self-disclosure, Boundaries, and Being Real.
  • Provider Burnout, Political Trauma Stress, Secondary Trauma, Moral Injury, Oppression Fatigue, Compassion Fatigue, and Resiliency Assessments. (Assessments will be provided.)

II. The Personal Impacts of the Current Social-political Climate

  • What are the negative and positive impacts on my emotional, spiritual, psychological, and physical health and well-being?
  • The 6-Fs of Interaction: Understand when our coping strategies of FIGHT, FLIGHT, FREEZE, FADE, and FAWN override our ability to be grounded in FACE. The costs and benefits of each.
  • What, if any, is my role in the revolution?
  • How bad is it, really? How prepared should I be, and for what?
  • REVOLT Together for Ten Minutes.

III. Fostering Resiliency for Our Professional and Personal Well-being

  • Why resting, self-care, and dancing are fundamental, radical tools of the revolution.
  • Factors that build and sustain resiliency.
  • Eight Pillars of self-care and well-being.
  • Share resources, tools, and ideas.
  • Create a Professional and Personal Wellness and Action Plan. (Templates will be provided.)

For: Specifically designed for progressive helping professionals from anywhere. [Progressive means liberal and radical folx who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, or Allies.]

Capped at 15 spots/workshop.

Dates: Thursday, 4.24.25 at 9-12:15p CST | There will be a 15-minute break.

Fee: $60. Sliding Scale. No one is turned away for an inability to pay. Free for paid members of The MN LGBTQ+ Therapists’ Network. (Network membership is not the same as being a member of the Network's FB page.)

Facilitator: Irene Greene MSED (She/Her)

Irene has 29+ years of experience as a psychotherapist, positive psychology holistic wellness coach, group facilitator, relationship and family conflict coach, and national trainer. She is the Chair of the MN LGBTQ+ Therapists' Network and a psychological first-aid street medic trainer. Irene currently facilitates three support and skills groups: a sexual abuse survivor group, a group for LGBTQ+ executive directors of non-profits, and a burnout and compassion fatigue group for helping professionals. Irene provides resiliency, burnout, vicarious trauma, moral injury, and compassion fatigue trainings to political activists, social service, medical, educational, mental health, and non-profit community-based agencies and organizations. Irene also offers anti-racist workshops and affinity groups for white helping professionals. Irene was the first director of the U-MN-Sexual Violence Program, worked in the State of MN’s Crime Victim Unit, served as Chair of the MN Coalition Against Sexual Assault, and was on the board of MN Women in Psychology.

Irene is a cisgender lesbian Roma-Irish-German-American parent of two adult children. She has two feline companions who like exploring her flower and vegetable gardens.

How do I receive the CEU certificate to submit to my board?

Upon request, Irene will give participants a CEU certificate to submit to their board. (CEUs have not been pre-authorized. As far as Irene knows, none of her dozens of workshops have ever been denied CEUs.)
