About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Ready, Set, Explore Slide into Summer offers families an opportunity to ignite summer learning and encourages collaborative problem solving through hands-on STEAM and environmental sustainability activities. Plus, each activity station connects to a book to inspire summer reading!

Families and children can:

  • Experience our new Digital Creator Studio
  • Create a pinwheel to investigate how wind creates energy
  • Code very hungry Ozobots “ants” to eat a picnic
  • Build a bee hotel to support our local pollinators
  • Explore the science behind making enormous bubbles
  • Plant a seed to watch it grow all summer long

Children who attend will receive:

  • A FREE copy of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (picture book or young reader’s edition)

The first 50 families to check in will receive a free STEM in a Box education kit packed with fun ways to keep the learning going all summer long! This summer learning opportunity is generously supported by the Anne M. & Philip H. Glatfelter III Family Foundation.

Celebrate curiosity and creativity! Ready, Set, Explore activities encourage families to explore new ideas, unleash creative expression and engage with the world in meaningful ways.

Families can drop in anytime between 10am and 1pm; we are usually busiest the first hour. We suggest planning to stay for at least an hour, and you can choose which activities to enjoy.
