About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This event will display factual signs including keywords to bring attention to important social justice issues, helping to raise awareness and educate the public. Once individuals have read the action statements, they will have the opportunity to plant a flower, as we are ROOTED IN CHANGE. This is a symbol of unity, as we are stronger together. Through this outreach event, we are able to bring communities closer together, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and encourage cooperative efforts for a common goal.

Throughout the month of April, daily challenge activities (reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on a personal experience, etc.) are posted in the Challenge app and website, allowing participants to connect with one another, discover how racial and social injustice impact our communities, and identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. If your company would like to participate in this challenge, we would be happy to share the campaign information with you.

The YWCA Racial & Social Justice Committee is crucial in developing and implementing strategies to address systemic inequalities and injustices.
