The Poughkeepsie Passion Play is the dramatic retelling of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The passion play uses music and drama to share the truth of Jesus, His earthly ministry and His redemptive work on the cross. Dr. James Whitmire from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary will be directing the production. The performances will be in the main auditorium of Living Water Church and are about two hours in length, with no intermission. The event is family friendly, however some elements of the presentation may be too intense for small children.

Frequently asked questions

What about parking?

Free parking is available in the city parking garage directly adjacent to the church. Garage entrances are located on Market St. and Garden St. The church is also easily accessible by bus, with the transit hub located next door to the church.

What time do the doors open?

Doors will open one hour prior to the performance.

How long is the performance?

Approximately two hours with no intermission.

Can I bring my children to the performance?

This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome. However, some elements of the presentation may be intense for small children.

I have some mobility issues. Are there stairs to navigate?

There are 4-5 steps to enter the venue on Mill St. and access seats on the floor of the auditorium. There are numerous steps to access the balcony level.

What about wheelchair access?

A ramp entrance is available for wheelchairs. Reserved handicap parking spaces are available on two sides of the church building. For more information, call the church office at 845-393-1592.

What hotels are in the area?

DoubleTree by Hilton is directly across the street from the venue. However, there are many other reputable hotels within a few miles of the venue.
