Come explore the trails with the staff from the Pequest Natural Resource Education Center. We will lead you on one of the three trails on the property and explore what signs of spring nature has for us to see.

These hikes are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover.

Age Limits

For ages 12 years and above. Participants 16 years and younger must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Prerequisites

Participants should be comfortable outdoors. This program will require some hiking on various trails, roadways and other varying terrains in changing weather conditions.

Cancellations

NJ DEP Fish & Wildlife programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. You can cancel through Eventbrite or email us at pequest@dep.nj.gov. Programs at Pequest Natural Resource Education Center are RAIN or SHINE, but in the event of severe weather, classes may be canceled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified by email as soon as possible.

How far will we be hiking?

Trails vary in length from 1 mile to 4+ miles.

Is the event rain or shine?

Yes, events are rain or shine, but we may have to cancel due to extreme weather or other environmental hazards.

Can I bring my dog with me?

Pets are not allowed on the trails during programs. If visiting without a program, animals may be on the trails but must be leashed and their waste must be removed.
