Pedal Pals: Homeschool Bike Club

Meeting Location:

April Location: Metfield Park, Bella Vista. Pump Track Lot.

Description:

Looking for a fun and structured way for your homeschooler to build confidence on a bike? Pedal Pals: Homeschool Bike Club is a weekly Friday morning ride designed for kids ages 4–10 to develop bike skills, explore trails, and connect with other homeschool families.

Who can join?

  • Kids ages 4–10 who can pedal on their own power (no training wheels or push bikes).
  • Parents are welcome to ride along or hang out while we ride!

When & Where?

  • Month of April: Metfield Skills Park in Bella Vista, AR.

What to Expect:

  • We begin with a prayer for safety before hitting the trails.
  • 1.5 hours of riding focused on skill-building and fun.
  • 30-minute cool-down & lunch—bring a backpack lunch for a picnic-style wrap-up.
  • Each week, we’ll focus on a different skill to help young riders grow their confidence and abilities, including:
  1. Coasting while standing up
  2. Safely braking with both hands
  3. Pedaling while standing
  4. Changing gears & working on cadence
  5. Cornering, balance, and more!

Certified Coaching & Rider Safety

  • All coaches are PMBIA-certified (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association).
  • We maintain a 1:8 coach-to-rider ratio—for every 8 kids, there will be one coach to ensure personalized instruction and safety.
  • Staffing is based on the number of sign-ups, so RSVP early to secure your spot!
  • Suggested Donation: $10 per child per ride. (Your support helps keep this program rolling!)

Weather Policy:

If weather conditions are unsafe (heavy rain, storms, extreme temperatures, etc.), the ride will be canceled for that week. We will not reschedule but will continue with the next scheduled ride the following Friday. All registered participants will receive a full refund for any canceled ride due to inclement weather.

RSVP now—bring your helmet, bike, water, and backpack lunch, and get ready for some fun on the trails!
