Hosted by: OC Habitats with partners Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy, and Huntington State Beach

Event Overview: We’re excited to invite you to a hands-on habitat improvement project aimed at protecting two endangered and threatened species: the California Least Tern (Sterna antillarum browni) and the Western Snowy Plover (Charadrius nivosus nivosus). Help us protect these species by installing protective cording along the fence around the California Least Tern nesting areas to deter avian predators and assist with other essential habitat improvement activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the coastal dune ecosystems, native species, and wildlife conservation – all while making a direct impact by supporting the recovery of endangered and threatened species!

Where to Meet: Huntington State Beach (detailed meeting location details will be emailed after sign-up)

Parking: Parking is free for all volunteers! Detailed parking instructions will be provided after sign-up.
