About this event

No planning. No clean-up. No stress.

Join a group of cool, fun-loving adults and kids for a peaceful morning hike and outdoor brunch where our sitters will handle any mid-trail meltdowns caused by a “RUINED” granola bar.

What to expect

On arrival, our sitters will gather the kids into a group and begin handing out the nature hunt supplies and playing games while the adults get settled in.

The kids will get a bit of a head start on the trail while we grab some coffee and follow a bit behind them, enjoying the magic of a great morning outside without someone constantly whining that this is SO BORING.

We’ll hike for about 30-40 minutes and then stop to socialize and enjoy a delicious picnic brunch. Kids will have their own (kid-oriented) meal nearby and our sitters will keep them engaged and fed.

Frequently asked questions

What about inclement weather?

If we have storms or heavy rain, we'll reschedule! We'll march on through light rain or drizzle.

Do I have to bring my kid(s)?

Nope. If they've got a birthday party or a soccer game or something else, come along on your own. NewFriends is dedicated to taking care of parents — that means we know having an option for child care; but entertaining the kids is not our primary goal.

What about kids under 2?

If your littlest one is packable, bring 'em along! We can't provide sitters for this age, but cute babies in backpacks are welcome. We just ask that you dip out of the group if they get a little rowdy.
