Garnet Peak via the PCT
Nature Unplugged Club Hike—San Diego (June) | Nature Unplugged Club hikes and events are a time to get together with old friends and make new ones. It’s a time to unplug from our devices, breathe in the fresh air and connect with the world around us. We’re committed to creating a community that values time outside, together—and that’s why we host these free, organized monthly hikes and events around San Diego.
While these hikes are offered at no cost, we do require registration. Your registration lets us know you're coming so that we can look for you at the trailhead. In advance of the hike, we'll also send you an email with helpful information including things like directions, parking tips, the weather outlook and what to bring.
Garnet Peak via the PCT
Join us on this 4.1-mile out-and-back trail near Mount Laguna, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 30 min to complete.
We will access the PCT from the Penny Pines Trailhead along Sunrise Highway. From there, we'll follow the PCT north admiring great views of the surrounding mountains and rolling landscape. A spur trail travels off of the PCT and heads to the summit of Garnet Peak, which has a rocky summit at 5,920 feet.
