National Trails Day promotes advocacy and trail service to provide a safe experience for tens of thousands of hikers, bikers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Organizations all over the nation will bring volunteers to work together to maintain, clean up, and revive public lands and trails. Build your local community and join the nationwide movement to give back to the trails and make sure everyone can enjoy the outdoors.


The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is hosting a National Trails Day event at Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park from 8:30AM to 1:30PM. Join park partners and staff in maintaining trails, general groundskeeping, and working at the Native Plant Nursery.


Be prepared for the day:

Closed-toed boots or shoes, proper sun protection, and a refillable water bottle are required at the event. Long pants, long sleeves, and a hat are strongly encouraged. We will supply tools, gloves, and training. Bring a chair or blanket with you to relax and join us for a light lunch afterwards.


Directions:

The main entrance is at Via Goleta and Lynn Road, Newbury Park, CA, 91320

From the Ventura Fwy (101) to Lynn Rd exit. South on Lynn Rd 5.25 miles to Via Goleta. Park entrance is on the left.

Park in any of the parking lots and meet near the bathrooms at the last parking lot.
