About this event

Celebrate Japanese culture while learning the classic art of paper folding – Origami. Join Michiko Okuma for this 60 minute workshop where you’ll learn common Origami folds, some tips and tricks for folding Origami like a pro and gather a bit of knowledge on the history of Origami. Fold some Cherry Blossom themed pieces and take them home with you!

Will there be other Origami classes offered?

Currently there will only be one Origami class offered but in the case that we cannot accommodate all interested guests, we may add additional classes. Please check back at our website for additional opportunities.

Who teaches the Origami class?

Michiko Okuma moved to Washington, D.C. from Tokyo, Japan in 2017. Since then, she has enjoyed working as a volunteer of Origami events at Japanese events and festivals across the DMV. She also teaches Origami at schools as part of after school programs.

Do you offer refunds for the class?

While we do not offer refunds for the class, tickets are transferable.

Can children participate in the class?

People young and old may participate in the class. We encourage families to participate together!

Are all materials provided?

Yes, all materials for the Origami making are provided at no additional charge.
