About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Join us as we honor the legendary Umm Kalthoum, marking 50 years since her passing in 1975. Known as the Nightingale of the Arab World, her iconic voice inspires generations. To pay tribute, we proudly present the Umm Kulthum Ensemble from NYC, featuring Egyptian vocalist Marwa Morgan.

Each year, we honor the invaluable contributions of Arab Americans and commemorate National Arab American Heritage Month with community leaders, cultural performances, and authentic Arab cuisine.

As Arab Americans face exclusion from diverse initiatives and discriminatory discourse, it is more important than ever to affirm our identity, celebrate our contributions, and counter dehumanizing narratives.

The Arab America Foundation, in collaboration with Arabs at Amazon, invites you to commemorate National Arab American Heritage Month, honoring the rich culture, resilience, and achievements of Arab Americans.

This event is a crucial opportunity to promote inclusion, challenge misconceptions, and amplify Arab American voices in corporate and public spaces.

About National Arab American Heritage Month

Throughout April, the Arab America Foundation celebrates National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM), recognizing the achievements, culture, and contributions of Arab Americans. Across the U.S., schools, governments, and organizations issue proclamations and host events honoring Arab heritage.

In 2017, Arab America launched a national movement to unify recognition of NAAHM. Since then, state and local governments, corporations, and institutions have expanded their participation, with 250+ volunteers across 26 states organizing proclamations and events nationwide.
