Join the MLCM experts as they provide the information you need to navigate through the complexities of the Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. This training offers a thorough review of the federal regulations (Internal Revenue Code Section 42) related to LIHTC along with practical applications and instructions on critical tax credit management issues.
This two-day workshop will consist of critical elements of the LIHTC Program to include eligible basis, qualified basis, the applicable fraction, and utility allowances. We will also focus on asset and income calculation and compliance, tenant eligibility, and calculating rents. There will be discussion on calculating tax credits, important timeframes, and acquisition/rehab developments. This training will be presented in accordance with HOTMA regulations.
This is an advanced training and is recommended for individuals with at least two years’ experience in the LIHTC program. Property owners, developers, asset managers, state housing agency staff and others working in the affordable housing industry can benefit from this training.
The Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) exam will be offered on Day 2. This exam is optional and is offered on-line at your convenience. This exam is the most important step in obtaining the HCCP designation. In addition to passing the exam, you must complete a 10-hour LIHTC training course (this workshop meets that requirement), a minimum of two years’ experience in the LIHTC industry and adherence to the HCCP Code of Ethics.
The HCCP credential is a specialized designation for professionals working in the affordable housing industry in the LIHTC program. HCCP is the nationally recognized designation through the National Association of Home Builders that establishes the standard of excellence in program knowledge, expertise, and integrity for all areas of the affordable housing tax credit industry.
All participants receive a Certificate of Attendance and a resourceful user’s manual related to this training.
