Mindful Birding pairs observing birds with mindfulness techniques and creating a practice that cultivates a heightened awareness. Labeling or identifying birds is not the primary focus, but instead the intention is slowing down and noticing, using birds as our guides.
Holly Merker (co-author of the book "Ornitherapy": A Mindful Birding and Forest Bathing Guide, and Co-host of the Mindful Birding Podcast Mindful Birding Network , Founder & Member), will teach us how to use mindfulness exercises that engage our sensory awareness while intentionally tuning into the birds surrounding us. There are techniques and prompts that will enhance our observation skills as well as deepen our experiences with wild birds around us. Join us for this informative and relaxing event!
