Create a signature scent while learning the basics of fragrance composition. Choose your favorite jar color to pour your custom scent & 8oz of all-natural wax! (~1hr) We will have a juice bar included - BYOB champagne!


While the candles cure (1-1.5hr), enjoy complimentary refreshments and light appetizers (BYOB welcome) as we explain the differences between clean & toxic fragrances with a brief history of perfumery. Design a personalized label on-site with your own photo, logo, etc.!

Create, combine, and choose your favorite scents while learning the basics of fragrance composition. After you've whipped up your new favorite fragrance oil, I'll show you the process of how to create a candle. Each guest will get to choose their container from a selection of colorful vessels. Then you will mix your fragrance with warm wax, stir, pour, and wait to cure!

While we wait for our candles to cure (~1.5hr), it is time to chat and chill! There will be an assortment of refreshments and light appetizers for guests to enjoy as we explain the differences between clean and toxic fragrances as well as a brief history of the art and science of perfumery.

Malibu Apothecary creates clean, evocative fragrances inspired by a love of travel. This passion led founder, Claire Ellis, around the globe; from vacations in the Caribbean, months living in the Côte d'Azur, charity work in Africa, to a solo trip around Asia. Based on the science that scent is the strongest trigger of memory, Claire used her knowledge of scent from perfumery classes in Grasse, France to craft fragrances reminiscent of these places traveled and started hand-pouring candles as a hobby in her SoCal apartment. It was then that Claire discovered the toxicity and unethical standards that exist in today’s candle industry. Ultimately, graduating from wax-coated floors and a lost rent deposit, Malibu Apothecary today is a reflection of this passion for clean, non-toxic living and a thirst for the undiscovered that inspires her travels and creations.
